Om ALICE
ALICE er Københavns nye kraftcentrum for den grænsesøgende musik beliggende på Nørre Allé 7, Nørrebro.
ALICE slog dørene op 1. Februar 2018 som en fusion af de to spillesteder Global og Jazzhouse. Spillestedet har en kapacitet på 250 personer og præsenterer hele året rundt eventyrlysten musik inden for et væld af genrer og udtryk fra global roots, folkemusik, jazz og improv til avantgarde-rock, elektroniske eksperimenter mm. Vi sætter fokus på både musikkens rødder, legendariske skikkelser og de markante nybrud. Vi kaster lys over banebrydende musikmiljøer fra hele verden med ambitionen om at nå hele kloden rundt – altid med musik af høj international kvalitet.

Caterina Barbieri Time-Blind A/V w/ Ruben Spini (IT) + Internazionale
Den Berlin-baserede italienske komponist Caterina Barbieri er et af de mest interessante nye navne på den europæiske elektroniske scene. Hendes ofte repetitive, mønsterbaserede og minimalistiske modular synth-kompositioner udforsker temaer relateret til maskinens intelligen og synes at sætte tid og rum i bevægelse.
Opfølgeren til hendes hypede album “Patterns of Consciousness” (Important Records, 2017) er på trapperne. “Ecstatic Computation” kredser i endnu højere grad om anvendelsen af komplekse mønsterbaserede modular-sekvenser, og afsøger nysgerrigt potentialet af musikkens trancedannende og hypnotiserende effekt på publikum.
Barbieri har baggrund som klassisk guitarist, har beskæftiget sig med både modular- og Buchla synth og har en bachelor i elektroakustisk musik fra Bologna Konservatorie. Hun har spillet på festivaler og spillesteder som The Long Now, MaerzMusik og Atonal (DE), Mutek (ES, CA), Unsound (PL), Barbican Centre (UK), Philharmonie de Paris (FR), CTM (DE), Ableton Loop (DE), Moogfest (US), Biennale di Venezia 2017 (IT), Manchester University (UK), m.fl.
